Australian Coast boxer Troy Waters, age 53, fought till the end with leukemia. It’s sad news for all of his fans and followers as he passed away after a long battle.
Waters was a light middleweight boxer who was the member of Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame. He was one of the Australian boxing stars of the 1980s and early 1990s.
It all happened in the year 2014 when the boxer, Troy Waters, suffered from a rare blood cancer called ‘acute myeloid leukemia.’ In the December of the same year, had a bone-marrow transplant from his brother Dean.
A close friend and a former boxer, Jamie Pittman said,
“He’d been battling hard for four years, it’s just an awful disease. There were a few stages where we thought he’d get on top of it, but unfortunately, it was just too much for him,”
Jamie Pittman added;
“He had such a big impact to all the young boxers growing up on the Central Coast. We were talking about it his morning, how devastating it is to have lost our biggest hero.”

“It floored me when I discovered it came back. I have to fight it. I can’t give up, and I am going to fight it for me, my wife Michelle and children Nate, 14, and Shontae, 11.”
