Earlier this week, we announced that Noah Cyrus was on the verge of releasing her follow-up track “Stay Together.” The single has finally arrived and there is no doubt in our minds that it will be a contender for the next summer smash!
Digressing from a much different sound than breakout song “Make Me (Cry)” possesses, the 17-year-old showcases carefree lyrics that shine through a catchy melody. “I drank straight to my head /I went outside to smoke a cigarette /And I shattered my phone on the cement /But I don’t give a f***,” she begins.
The chorus is just as infectious as the rest with teen crooning the words, “Nothing lasts forever/But wouldn’t it be nice to stay together for the night /Oh oh oh /We can do whatever /As long as we’re together then we’re gonna be alright /Don’t leave, just wait.”
Though similarities between the singer and older sister Miley’s “Party in the USA” era can be easily pinpointed, it is something that Cyrus has already envisaged and is not remotely phased by.
“We’re going to be told that we sound alike,” she revealed to Billboard late last year. “I’ve been expecting that. It doesn’t take me by surprise, and it doesn’t bother me.”
If the pop song is a preview of what to expect from Cyrus’ upcoming LP NC-17, get ready for a sensational debut record.
