After the emotional Season 4 finale of Outlander aired at the end of January, fans were left with a plethora of questions, but since Starz hadn’t officially renewed the show for another season, they didn’t know if they would ever get any answers. Luckily just a couple of weeks later, the time-traveling drama got greenlit for two more seasons, and star Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) says that #Droughtlander will be worth the wait and fans will not be disappointed.
According to The Express, Heughan took to Twitter recently to tease fans about Season 5, and his followers pretty much lost their minds.

#Droughtlander UPDATE. Have read several scripts for S5! You won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to get started,” wrote Heughan.
Fans immediately responded with excitement, as one fan wrote, “I actually squealed & spilled my drink on myself reading this! I’m BEYOND excited! #Droughtlander.”
Heughan says that Season 5 will be a difficult one for the Fraser family as they continue their life in North Carolina. They will have to deal with the coming American Revolution, and there is also the fight against the rebellious regulators. Star Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) says that everything will revolve around family and loyalty.
Since Jamie and Claire’s daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) gave birth at the end of Season 4, Claire will be developing into a grandmother. And, viewers will also get to see how things change in Jamie and Claire’s relationship as they grow older.

But, will there be more intimate scenes between the popular couple? Series co-executive producer Maril Davis says that they had to cut sex scenes last season because they just didn’t fit with plot development. However, she knows fans want to see more, and Davis says there will be more steamy scenes in the coming seasons.
Season 5 and 6 will also see Heughan and Balfe as producers of the Starz series, so fans should expect fantastic storylines and unforgettable moments that will be a must-watch.
Starz CEO Chris Albrecht also assures fans that Seasons 5 and 6 will be epic. He says that Claire and Jamie will be back to face “new challenges, adversaries, and adventures.” And, the series will continue the story of the Frasers’ settling in the New World as they “delve into American history.”
