Nate Bargatze is an American comedian, actor, writer and producer. Born to an internationally renowned comedian-turned-magician, Bargatze was surely to inherit a reservoir of comedy genes. Nate Bargatze was born March 25, 1979 to a Southern Baptist Christain family in Old Hickory, Nashville, Tennessee. He had his early education at the Donelson Christian Academy. After graduating, one of his previous jobs was at the now defunct Opryland theme park in suburban Nashville. Later he worked as a water meter reader at Mt. Juliet, a suburb of Nashville. There he met Michael Clay, a colleague and aspiring comedian who eventually became his career partner. Together they moved to Chicago in 2002, where they signed up with the legendary Second City improvisational theater troupe.
While his friend Clay continued and ended up graduating, Nate Bargatze dropped out of improv school and opted to take a comedy class. He also launched his showbiz career as a stand-up comedian in Chicago. Bargatze then moved to New York where he ventured into acting full-time. Over the years, he has honed and honed his craft through numerous gigs at different comedy clubs. When it comes to his family life, Nate Bargatze has maintained a relatively low profile. Although his wife is a major inspiration for most of his works, her identity remains largely unknown. She is, however, known to be from Huntsville, Alabama. According to Bargtaze, they married in 2007 and welcomed their first child on July 8, 2012, a daughter named Harper Blair.
In 2018, the family moved from California to Bargatze’s native Tennessee. A multi-camera comedy series based on moving as well as other aspects of family is in development. Bargatze is also co-writer and co-producer.
